Mark has been a member of the Green Party since 2010 and was the party’s candidate for the Balmoral electoral area in the 2011 Belfast City Council election. He also co-ordinated Green candidate Clare Bailey’s campaign in the South Belfast constituency during the same year’s Assembly election.
Following Green Party leader Steven Agnew’s election to the Assembly in 2011, Mark was appointed as the party’s shadow cabinet member for environment and took a place on the all party group on European environmental regulation at Stormont. He was elected party treasurer in October 2012.
